Building & Civil Project Manager

We are recruiting for an experienced Building and Civil Engineering Technical officer to
work at a secure site in Cumbria. This is a permanent position, salary £25 - £30k for the
right applicant.
Reporting to the Facilities manager you will be responsible for providing building and civil engineering (B&CE) expertise in the Facility Management business at a secure facility in Cumbria. The role is to manage, deliver and coordinate civil engineering services to meet current regulations and statutory requirements, within agreed budget. Ensure efficient delivery of project and maintenance services to the requirements of the site's maintenance plan. Provide technical advice and cost effective solutions to property related building and civil engineering matters.
Duties:
*Contractor control, ensuring high standards of H&S, quality of work, time standards and budget.
*Project management, undertaking regular formal project meetings with stakeholders.
*Estimating budget costs for maintenance and project works
*Ensuring the site's compliance with the management of asbestos, through condition monitoring and defect rectification
*Creating detailed site specifications, ensuring compliance with H&S and environmental legislation
*Preparing documentation/contracts that can show efficiency through procurement of works.
*Carrying out condition /asset surveys on the building and civil estates facilities/assets to maintain an effective maintenance register.
*Ensure delivery of specialist inspections.
Requirements:
*Formal qualification in building and civil engineering discipline of Facilities Management minimum HNC standard.
*Demonstrate a track record in delivering FM services.
*Ideally would have QS skills relevant to MTC based on schedule of rates.
*Detailed knowledge of estates legislation.
*Must be computer literate.
*Provide clear verbal and written instructions, including production of accurate drawings/sketches to support minor maintenance tasks
*Relevant training in health and safety management (IOSH) and awareness of CDM regulations/requirements.
*Must be able to work under pressure and be able to prioritise work to reactive conditions.
*Must be receptive to change and actively look at opportunities and innovations to improve service delivery.
*Must work well with others, ensuring good communication and listening to embrace good teamwork and business ethics.
*Be accountable for your actions, maintaining commitments and demonstrating a can do attitude.
*Must be able to demonstrate effective people management skills to ensure a firm but fair approach to optimise contractor performance.
*The role will include driving on and between sites. Therefore a full UK driving licence is required.
Hours of work are Monday - Friday, 37 hours per week
