Our customer are a specialist M&E services provider operating across the UK, with a number of contracts with both Property & Real Estate organisations / End users, as well as FM contractors. Due to some internal changes at one of their critical environment customer’s sites, the company seek 2 x multi-skilled M&E shift engineers to provide planned and reactive maintenance to critical and general building services plant. Based near Loughton, Essex, the facility is the data centre of a global financial services company who contract their M&E services to this specialist provider. Working on a single-man shift pattern, and working in tandem with in-house staff. The guideline salary for this position is circa £50-55,000 basic salary, with a standard pension scheme as well as an opportunity for training and overtime.
Candidates must be fully qualified electrical engineers, ideally through a full apprenticeship, and with at least three years experience within a critical environment (data centre/banking preferably). Due to the “single-man” nature of the sites shift pattern, it would be desirable for interested parties to have some supervisoy/lead engineer experience also. Along with core electrical qualifications, additional training such as 18th edition, 2391, HV / LV authorisation would be beneficial. Working knowledge of the following systems is crucial:
Electrical & Mechanical Fault-Finding, Single & Three Phase Power, Emergency Lighting, Fire Alarms, BMS Operation, Air Handling & Fan Coil Units, Pumps, Motors, 1st line Chiller & Boiler Faults, Diesel Generators, UPS Systems, HV & LV Distribution, VESDA, CRAC Units, VRV/VRFs, etc.
This is an exciting opportunity to work outside of London within a critical environment. With a competitive salary and a location in the North East London / West Essex area, it will likely be of interest to those tired of the commute into Central London, and looking to work a little local to home without forgoing a London wage. With a very steady team on site, these vacancies have only become available due to engineers reaching retirement and will suit stable, experienced M&E engineers who are looking for a long term position on shift.
