PRS are pleased to be working for a prestigious site in Cambridge and we are recruiting for permanent full-time Mechanical Engineers This is a fulltime role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary, bonus and excellent benefits package.

The Role

• Actively participate in the operation and control of all engineering planned maintenance schemes and undertake essential repair works and general maintenance activities to plant.
• Undertake fault finding and rectification on low pressure heating water systems, critical systems and equipment and pressurised steam systems. Using cause effect analysis and detailed examination to gain a solution and use of all relevant drawings and schematics.
• Carry out planned preventative maintenance inspections and commission and test in accordance with published procedures.
• Carry out emergency repairs as required (which may require overtime).
• Obligation to undertake training where necessary to learn new techniques and technology.
• Monitor the building services and report defects to the Technical Supervisors.
• May require participation on a call out roster, which will include working unsocial hours.                                                                  

Requirements

• Recognised Mechanical/Engineering Apprenticeship – HNC, ONC, City & Guilds, or equivalent experience.
• Customer focused, confident in their skills and a confident communicator
• Competent in fault finding and diagnostics and procurement of spares
• Be willing to complete role specific training on and off site
• Sufficient knowledge and skill to be able to use computers
• Experience of requirements management and a system engineering approach
• Maintains and develops knowledge, capability and competence in latest engineering standards and techniques
• Must be able to obtain Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) clearance
