We are looking for a skilled and experienced Building Services Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of electrical systems and equipment within our commercial buildings. This role will require the ability to work independently, as well as collaborate with other members of the facilities team.
Responsibilities:
- Conducting regular inspections and maintenance on electrical systems and equipment, including lighting, power distribution, emergency backup systems, and HVAC controls.
- Responding to emergency maintenance requests and outages in a timely and efficient manner.
- Collaborating with other members of the facilities team to ensure the smooth operation of building systems.
- Conducting preventative maintenance tasks on electrical systems and equipment to extend their lifespan and ensure optimal performance.
- Maintaining accurate records of all maintenance activities and reporting on the performance of the electrical systems.
- Ensuring that all work is carried out in compliance with relevant health and safety regulations.
Requirements:
- A City and Guilds level 3 in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in electrical maintenance in a commercial building environment.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems and equipment, including lighting, power distribution, emergency backup systems, and HVAC controls.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and diagrams.
- Experience with electrical safety procedures and protocols.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Availability to work outside of regular business hours when required.
