Do have have previous experience and in-depth knowledge in commercial drones and UAV technology.
If so we are looking to recruit a Technical Manager to oversee the in-house engineering team for a industry leading supplier of commercial and industrial grade Drones & UAV’s. We’re looking for someone who can maintain technical excellence, foster innovation, and facilitate cross-functional collaboration, all while prioritising safety, gross margin delivery, compliance, and customer satisfaction.
The role is a permanent position paying between 40-50k depending on previous experience level based out of Leeds / West Yorkshire region.
Mon-Fri circa 40 hours per week, 26 holiday days plus bank holidays, amazing training and development opportunities for career progression, pension and share scheme, health plan
As Technical Manager you will be responsible for leading the technological vision for and ensuring that the technology is aligned with the company’s goals and objectives, the context of the drone industry and its regulatory requirements.
Identify and evaluate emerging technologies and trends that may enhance the company’s products and services.
Maintain, drive, supervise and implement robust technical standards, systems and processes.
Influence technology strategies and decisions with a high-level of expertise and knowledge.
Provide direction and support to ensure compliance with relevant legislative specifications and standards.
Validation and verification of new technologies Integration of drone payloads with platforms and software
Facilitate the diagnosis of damaged drones and the repair of those drones, supporting customers over the phone and via email.
Service and repair UAVs within SLA ensuring that they are fully tested and sent back to the customer in line with their expectations.
Build solid relationships with our suppliers ensuring that they deliver training, support and technical information whilst also delivering on any warranty issues raised with them.
Innovate & integrate drone solutions and services into scalable real-world applications that benefit enterprises
Develop and implement our drone technological strategy in alignment with the overall business strategy and market context.
Desirable Qualifications/Experience:
3 years of experience in the design building or repair of UAVs or in-depth quantified drone engineering skills
GVC certified, preferably fixed wing and multirotor.
Practical experience in operating a range of drones.
Understanding of current and emerging technologies and trends in the industry.
Ideally a Bachelor’s Degree in relevant fields such as Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Geospatial Sciences, or a related technical field. Avionics Engineers (RAF etc.) are also welcome to apply.
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
