We are recruiting for a mechanical engineer / maintenance plumber to cover PPM and reactive maintenance on a prestigious facility in the Manchester area.
The maintenance engineer will be responsible for general repairs and upkeep to the water and mechanical services plus compliance checks. This is initially a temporary role Mon-Fri days 40 hours per week (£18-22/hr depending on pay method) and may move into a permanent shift role paying up to 39k basic. On site parking available.
Mechanical Engineer, Plumber Description:
To travel to each facility completing reactive repairs, planned maintenance and small works projects.
Hot and cold water feeds
AHU’s and fan coil general maintenance
Pumps and valves
Radiators and heating
Drainage
Bathroom / toilet pipework and water services
Fabric maintenance duties – basic joinery, painting etc.
Leak repair
L8 prevention and thermostatic mixer valves (TMV)
Plus other associated tasks
Handyperson Requirements:
To have maintenance and Mechanical/Plumbing experience
Applicants are expected to have several years prior experience some of which will have been in a similar role and have good customer skills.
It is essential staff are self-motivated and promote a “Can do” customer attitude at all times.
Ability and desire to complete general fabric maintenance tasks
Knowledge of Building services (water, heating, ventilation and waste)
Be prepared to undertake training as required by the post and the contract manager.
Operate all systems within the building in a competent, effective and efficient manner, adhering to relevant guidelines and bulletins.
