Our client are a renowned global property and real estate organisation, with a portfolio of iconic mixed-use commercial buildings in the UK which they both own and self-deliver Building Engineering and general Facilities Management services themselves as opposed to engaging a maintenance contractor.
With an anticipated “go-live” of their newest multi-tenant tower building in early 2025, they are beginning a recruitment drive for a number of senior shift leaders for this building, close to Liverpool Street station and the City of London. This will be a state of the art skyscraper and home to a number of corporate tenants (financial service, legal, etc). This will be working on a rotating 24/7 “continental” shift pattern, covering both days and nights, and working as part of a multi-skilled engineering team to deliver planned and reactive maintenance as well as annual shutdowns of critical plant.
Guideline salary for this position is highly competitive, offering a combined salary and shift allowance which total almost £60,000 while offering some of the best benefits within the UK’s built environment. These include an annual bonus, along with full healthcare and pension plans, annual training allowance per engineer. There is also the opportunity for further boosting earnings through bonuses for passing “Authorised Person” status across various engineering disciplines. With all this said, and overtime considered, OTE will be in the region of £75-80k.
With a fantastic package, the client seeks strong multi-skilled engineers with a great work ethic. Candidates must be fully qualified in either electrical or mechanical engineering (ideally through a full apprenticeship), with at least five years of relevant experience within a similar M&E / building services maintenance role in a critical or corporate environment – for example a Bank / Global Firms HQ, etc. Along with core qualifications, a current or previous HV / LV AP status is essential. Other desireable qualifications include L8, F-Gas, 2391, IOSH/NEBOSH, etc.
Particular working knowledge should extend to: Single & Three Phase Power, Emergency Lighting, Fire Alarms, Pumps & Motors, Air Handling & Fan Coil Units, BMS Operation, Water Treatment (Taps, Cooling Towers), Pressurisation Units, VRV/VRFs, Diesel Generators, UPS Systems, HV / LV Distribution (AP Status, Switching & Site Shutdowns, Permits), VRV/VRFs, 1st line Chiller & Boiler Faults, etc.
This is a rare and lucrative opportunity to work in-house, close to a major London transport hub, and with one of the best remuneration and benefits package in the London Building Services market. As such it will suit an enthusiastic, driven and technically minded individual looking to develop their career and based at a brand-new tower building, where they can take ownership of a new building with the various snagging & handover from construction.
