Senior Estimator (M&E)Estimator or M&E Estimator or Electrical Estimator or Mechanical Estimator.As an M&E Estimator, you will play a crucial role in providing accurate cost estimates for mechanical and electrical (M&E) projects within the Facilities Management (FM) industry. You will work closely with the operations and commercial teams, reviewing client requirements, preparing detailed tenders, and ensuring that all costings are in line with company standards. Applicants from both FM, construction, and soft services backgrounds are welcome to apply.Key Responsibilities:
- Cost Estimation: Prepare accurate estimates for M&E services, including reactive and planned maintenance, refurbishment, and new installations.
- Tender Preparation: Review tender documents, specifications, and client requirements to create comprehensive and competitive proposals.
- Site Surveys: Conduct site surveys and assessments as needed to gather information for project costing and feasibility studies.
- Supplier Liaison: Engage with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive quotes, ensuring best value for each project.
- Cost Analysis: Perform detailed cost breakdowns and analysis, considering labor, materials, and subcontractor costs.
- Bid Submission: Collaborate with the commercial team to ensure timely submission of tenders, including attending pre-tender meetings and clarifications.
- Client Interaction: Work closely with clients to understand their needs and provide them with transparent and accurate cost estimates.
- Project Handover: Assist in the handover of successful bids to the delivery team, providing clear communication on project scope and pricing.
Key Skills/Experience:
- M&E or Construction Experience: Proven experience in estimating within M&E, construction, or soft services industries – Essential.
- Facilities Management Knowledge: Understanding of the FM industry, with experience in hard or soft services – Desirable.
- Technical Skills: Strong technical knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical distribution, and BMS systems.
- Analytical Ability: Excellent numerical and analytical skills with the ability to produce accurate and competitive cost estimates.
- Communication: Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with clients, suppliers, and internal teams.
- IT Proficiency: Familiar with estimating software, spreadsheets, and other relevant tools for managing and preparing estimates.
