Role Overview:
We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Electrically Biased Shift Engineer to join our team at a prestigious commercial site located near Liverpool Street (Law firm), London. This role is ideal for an engineer with a strong electrical background who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. As a Shift Engineer, you will be responsible for the operation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems and equipment, ensuring that the building’s facilities are always running smoothly.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct routine inspections, testing, and preventative maintenance of all electrical systems and equipment within the building.
- Respond promptly to emergency breakdowns and provide troubleshooting and fault-finding services.
- Carry out planned maintenance tasks as per schedules to ensure minimal disruption to the building’s operation.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance work, repairs, and inspections.
- Provide technical support and guidance to other team members when required.
- Participate in on-call rotation for out-of-hours emergencies if required.
- Manage any electrical upgrades or installation projects as necessary.
Essential Skills & Qualifications:
- Recognized electrical qualification (e.g., City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3, or equivalent).
- 17th or 18th Edition IEE Wiring Regulations.
- HV (High Voltage) qualification and experience.
- Previous experience in a similar building services or facilities management role, ideally with exposure to critical systems.
- Strong understanding of electrical systems, fault diagnosis, and maintenance procedures.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in the use of computer-based systems for reporting and monitoring.
Desirable:
- Experience in HVAC systems, fire alarms, BMS, and other building systems.
- Previous experience working on a continental shift pattern.
- IPAF, PASMA, or other relevant certifications.
