Position: Electrical Maintenance Technician/Engineer
Contract: 6-12 month Temporary Contract (full time)
Location: Wigan, Greater Manchester
Rate: £25 – £40 per hour (4.5 days per week)

PRS has engaged with a new client and a leading manufacturer of electrical & electronic equipment based in Wigan, Greater Manchester. Due to an increase in production, we are seeking an Electrically bias Maintenance Engineer/Technician on a temporary/contract basis for 6-12 months.
To summarise the requirements, we would expect the following.
- Level 3 maintenance electrical qualification
- Minimum 5-year maintenance experience
- Able to use a multi-meter safely and confidently to measure live voltage, current resistance.
- Fault find on electrical components (EG. MCB, OL, Contactors) test 3 phase power / motors for faults and make repairs
- Understand electrical drawings (EG DOL starter)
80% of the work will be routine PM work, inspections, changing out components, visuals etc with some installation / fault-finding /project when required.
FUNDAMENTAL PURPOSE:
To ensure the maintenance, servicing, and repair of all equipment to maintain the continuity of the manufacturing operations and the safety of production personnel.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Maintaining plant and equipment throughout the site.
- Working as part of a team and working alone.
- Utilizing own initiative to fault find & rectify problems.
- Carrying out PPM maintenance tasks.
- Assist on breakdowns when required.
- Utilizing CMMS (SAP)
- Carry out work orders and return them to their supervisor in a timely manner.
- Safety of themselves & colleagues is a must.
- Housekeeping and ensuring a tidy workplace after work completion.
- Fast and efficient work completion, with the ability to prioritise as required.
- To promote continuous improvement work.
REQUIRES:
- Qualified to City & Guilds III standard within a time served Electrical Apprenticeship
- At least four years’ experience in a maintenance environment.
- Ability to carry out basic mechanical duties confidently and effectively, including following engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, schematic drawings and working instructions.
- Working knowledge of PLCs. Allen Bradley / Siemens.
- The ability to communicate effectively and constructively to both peers and management.
- Good skills in all Microsoft Office tools, computers systems for example SAP etc.
- Self-sufficient and ability to work under minimal direct supervision.
- Flexibility to work outside normal hours and to cover holidays and absences is necessary.
