In House Engineering Supervisor (building services engineering)

Days Monday to Friday 8am-4pm

Team Leader will be responsible for:
- Leading a multi-skilled team of engineering technicians during shift hours.
- Scheduling and allocating both planned and reactive tasks.
- Acting as the primary contact for engineering matters during each shift.
- Managing administrative tasks including rotas, absences, and overtime.
- Issuing and closing work permits as needed.
- Raising and authorising reactive work requests.
- Supporting critical systems testing and monthly integration exercises.
- Producing end-of-shift reports and transferring duties to incoming shift leaders.
- Ensuring the delivery of preventative maintenance using an Intelligent Work Management System (IWMS).
- Logging and updating tasks within the IWMS.
- Conducting regular inspections and checks to ensure system reliability.
- Responding to faults and prioritising fixes to minimise downtime.
- Performing routine maintenance across HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire safety, and other engineering systems.
- Promoting innovation and improvement in maintenance practices.
- Supporting statutory testing and compliance tasks.
- Assisting with measurements, surveys, and system checks.
- Coordinating with OEM contractors for scheduled and emergency works.
- Providing technical information for shift handovers and reports.
- Acting as an Authorised Person (HV/LV – Electrical/Mechanical) to support 24/7 operations under a Safe System of Work (SSoW).
- Completing required training and meeting performance objectives.
- Championing health and safety standards across operational areas.
- Ensuring work is completed according to standards, procedures, and service levels.
- Encouraging teamwork and a culture of continuous improvement.
- Participating in the technical support on-call rota across all three sites.
- Supporting incident management exercises related to engineering systems.
Person Specification – Team Leader Essential Qualifications and Experience:
- Minimum City & Guilds Level 3 or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline.
- IOSH Managing Safely qualification.
- Eligibility to obtain Security Clearance (SC level) – support provided.
- Experience with IWMS for managing maintenance tasks and using handheld HMI devices.
- Proven background in maintaining and operating HVAC, BMS, electrical, plumbing, and life safety systems.
- Authorised Person experience in HV/LV operations.
- Familiarity with working under defined Safe Systems of Work (SSoW).
- Strong understanding of statutory and compliance obligations.
- Ability to follow Standard and Emergency Operating Procedures (SOPs/EOPs).
- Proficiency in interpreting technical engineering drawings.
- Awareness of risks and interdependencies in operational buildings.
