We’re recruiting for an experienced Electrical Engineer to oversee the electrical maintenance of a well-established commercial building in Surrey. This is a standalone position, ideal for someone who takes pride in running a site independently and being the trusted technical presence for both the client and occupiers.
You’ll manage the electrical services on-site day to day, ensuring systems operate safely, efficiently, and in line with compliance requirements. The role offers autonomy, responsibility, and the chance to build long-term client relationships.
Duties
- Carry out planned and reactive electrical maintenance across the site
- Diagnose faults and maintain lighting, power, distribution boards, and emergency lighting systems
- Complete small electrical works, upgrades, and remedial repairs as required
- Support with light mechanical or building fabric tasks when needed
- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with health & safety legislation and industry standards
- Maintain accurate service records, logbooks, and compliance documentation
- Act as the main technical point of contact, delivering a professional and reliable service
- Take ownership of the site’s overall electrical performance and condition
What We’re Looking For
- NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds in Electrical Installation
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
- Proven background in commercial building maintenance
- Confident working independently as the primary on-site engineer
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
- Professional, client-focused approach with good communication skills
