Salary: £85,000
Hours – Monday to Friday Days 8AM – 5PM

An excellent opportunity has arisen with one of my clients who are looking for an Technical Services Engineering Manager on a Critical Banking Environment based in Canary Wharf.

You will be providing support to the site DCMs on large or complicated projects and planned maintenance works as required. Along with monitoring and responding to BMS & EMS alarms for specific buildings and assessing Appointing HVAP and LVAP’s for the site. The successful candidate will have full accountability of controls and process disciplines are rigorously maintained and continually enhanced through metrics reporting, risk assessment analysis, quality assurance and root cause analysis. To act as first response to BMS alarm notifications across campuses and providing information to the Clients Service desk Team

Duties will include:

  • Providing support to the site DCMs on large or complicated projects and planned maintenance works as required.
  • Assessing Appointing HVAP and LVAP’s for sites.
  • Monitor and respond to BMS & EMS alarms for specific buildings.
  • Reviewing proposals and designs for new projects.
  • Witnessing commissioning of systems for new installations.
  • Assessing sites for compliance with HV/LV rules and procedures.
  • Accountable with training program and apprentice candidate assessments.
  • Responsible for the management of the staff, operation and maintenance within the BCR and BEMS systems
  • Daily management of the OCC team including compliance with disciplinary processes and procedures.
  • To direct, instruct and manage all staff under their control as well as SSP’s ensuring compliance with working practices.
  • To complete the weekly operations report to the client and attend weekly operations meeting, client meetings as requested, in conjunction with the client.
  • To conduct regular reviews of operating procedures making recommendations for improvement with appropriate working practices and emergency/contingency procedures within the critical systems.
  • Liaise and keep informed both the client and the contracts manager on all aspects of BCR and BEMS systems (defects & deficiencies).
  • To ensure that all staff within their control are conversant with the operation and control of critical and noncritical systems installed within the portfolio.
  • To ensure quality is maintained throughout the facilities.
  • Ensuring business policies and processes are effectively communicated, and implemented within the contract.
  • Working with other Operations Managers to ensure the collaborative development of the business, effective team working, and support to colleagues.
  • Ensure appropriate control systems to ensure statutory, policy and contractual commitments are met.
  • Ensuring a customer focus within all areas of operational activities, and that effective relationships are maintained with key client contacts.
  • Provision of leadership and guidance, advice, coaching and direct support, where required to deliver best practice selection, training, assessment and recognition/reward.
  • Delivering effective business communication through advice, review, leadership and direct contribution to management and team meetings, briefings, consultation forums, correspondence, publicity, monthly and ad-hoc reporting and other publications, as appropriate.
  • Provide a learning environment, and appropriate training and development planning. Ensure basic training needs are delivered, employees are fully competent to undertake their roles, and are able to reach their full future potential.
  • Demonstrate a willingness to attend on and off site training for plant and systems as they are installed.

Requirements:

  • Excellent knowledge of the operation and maintenance of Mechanical & Electrical services and plant.
  • Experience of senior technical roles managing critical environments and core life safe infrastructure with multiple direct reports.
  • Authorized person for LV systems. Authorized person for HV systems (desired)
  • Demonstrate a good understanding and be technically competent in all building services.
  • In particular – UPS’s, transfer switches, PLC systems, critical cooling systems, water treatment, refrigeration systems and HV/LV electrical infrastructure.
  • Ability to interrogate and operate BMS systems
  • Knowledge of business-critical services i.e. UPS and Comms Rooms etc.
  • A minimum of City & Guilds in Electrical Installation.
  • LV or HVAP
  • 18th Edition IEE Regs
  • Permit to Work
  • IOSH Managing Safely
