We are currently assisting one of our partners, a prominent global real estate and facilities solutions firm, in their search for a Senior Facilities Director.
This role encompasses overseeing the strategic management of facilities across various locations, ensuring operational excellence and alignment with client objectives. Job Overview This role focuses on devising and executing facility maintenance management strategies for a portfolio of properties, prioritizing client needs while considering cost efficiency and operational risk mitigation.
Key Responsibilities
- Directs programs to ensure compliance with national, state, and local codes and regulations, covering areas such as fire safety, environmental standards, and industry-specific compliance requirements.
- Develops operational solutions including documented procedures and operational plans, ensuring maintenance activities align with established performance indicators.
- Conducts client inspections of all facilities, documenting findings and addressing any identified issues or concerns.
- Manages site operations and new projects, identifying capital improvement opportunities and conducting cost analyses for budgeting purposes.
- Evaluates contracts with external service providers to ensure competitive pricing and service quality, overseeing the RFP process as needed.
- Provides training and development opportunities for field and management staff, focusing on operational requirements, safety standards, cost-saving initiatives, and regulatory compliance.
- Supervises a major functional area or department, overseeing staffing, training, performance evaluation, and retention efforts.
- Ensures effective communication and collaboration across teams, fostering a culture aligned with company values.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or technical equivalent, along with a minimum of eight years of relevant experience; prior supervisory experience preferred.
- Preferred certifications include CPE (Certified Plant Engineer), CPMM (Certified Maintenance Manager), or OSHA 501 training.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to comprehend complex documents, deliver persuasive presentations, and negotiate effectively.
- Proficient in financial analysis and budget management, with the ability to develop and implement financial policies and procedures.
- Advanced problem-solving skills and the ability to make strategic decisions with a direct impact on the organization.
This position requires a deep understanding of company procedures, policies, and industry practices to achieve complex objectives. Responsible for setting project and departmental deadlines, with potential long-term consequences for business operations if errors occur.
