Job description

We are recruiting for an experienced Accounts Assistant based in the Hereford area, the role will provide management accounting support to the whole department, supporting and assisting within the finance function and to ensure a timely month end close. This is a permanent role paying £30 – £33k pa. Qualification AAT level 4 or QBE (finance background) essential

Main responsibilities as the Accounts Assistant are

·      Month-end management account support preparation & explanation to the Finance Manager
·      Key player in building efficiencies within the finance team
·      Journal preparation and posting
·      Maintaining General Ledger balances and reconciliations
·      Reporting and analysis to be undertaken when required
·      Ensuring cash movements are recorded accurately and reconciled
·      Supporting the tax treatments of transactions and tax submissions
·      Assisting the department general processing enquiries
·      Mentoring and training apprentices
·      Supporting Cashflow reporting
·      Support the apprentices in order and sales processing
·      Adhoc requirements within the finance team and support the wider business as and when required

·      Qualified or part qualified ACCA/ACA/CIMA
·      Desirable not essential qualifications or licences:

·      A minimum of two years previous relevant experience

Key skills:
·      Excellent IT skills, including all Microsoft Office programs.
·      The post holder will require a complex set of skills- must be a combination of process driven, dynamic, forward thinking, and analytical with a high level of flexibility and adaptability
·      Strong administrative skills, with the ability to multi-task in a busy environment, meet deadlines and maintain a high attention to detail.
·      A demonstratable knowledge of relevant financial accounting reporting rules
·      Excellent communicator with internal and external stakeholders.
