Job descriptionOur customer are a well established and growing consultancy firm, who operate within the commercial built environment and advise building owners, as well as property and real estate management firm. Due to some new wins, the company are looking to grow their team, and are looking for ideally people with a background within commercial building services/HVAC maintenance. While previous consultancy experience would be beneficial, the company are also open to speaking to experienced contract supervisors or junior/engineering managers who are looking to progress and develop their experience. Guideline salary for the position is between £45-60,000, depending on experience, along with pension scheme, healthcare, etc.
Candidates must be fully qualified in either electrical or mechanical engineering, ideally through a full apprenticeship, with at least five years of experience within a senior opportunity withing commercial facilities management. It is desirable for prospective candidates to have either Degree or HNC level engineering qualification, although along with core city & guilds certificates training such as F-Gas, HV authorisation, etc. Additional working knowledge should include:
Electrical fault-finding, single & three phase power, emergency lighting, fire alarms, motors, pumps, BMS systems, boilers, air handling & fan coil units, VRV/VRF systems, 1st line water chiller & boilers, diesel generators, UPS systems.
The principal duties when with the company will involve surveys of their customers sites, asset verification and dilapidation reports, energy efficiency, tender advice, BREEAM rating, sustainability studies, etc.
This is an interesting and varied role, with customers and sites across London and the South East, while being based from the London office which is centrally located. As such offers a number of different challenges including commercial and government buildings, schools, hospitals, etc. While gaining exposure to these customers and the necessary experience within the consultancy sector, the client interaction also means that a number of consultants end up being approached by managing agents and end-user clients to work as a customer, so opens a door to opportunity there also.
With client interaction a key part of the role, the customer are looking for articulate and enthusiastic individuals who can represent their firm in the best manner, and hopefully be able to develop new business.
