Business Development Manager
South (Reading)
up to £55K plus car allowance and Bonus

Are you looking for a company you can develop within?

We are looking for a proactive Business Development Manager who will be looking over several contracts ranging from £5000- £4Million. You will be working alongside the operational team developing existing portfolio and enhancing business for a huge FM provider. No two days are the same as you will be working with a variety of different customers from manufacturing, industrial, health, corporate, commercial, destinations and transport bodies.
You will be responsible for
  • The sales strategy and direction of success of Mobile technical services in the South
  • Grow the Mobile Technical Services team in the South by identifying, developing and winning new business. (Typical annual value £1M)
  • Own End-to-end business development lifecycle to win profitable new technical services contracts with new and existing clients
  • Identify and develop new customer relationships – Complete written tender returns
  • Liaising with internal stakeholders (operational team)
  • Achieve Sales Targets given
  • Support Growth and retention of contracts
  • Successfully lead bids to regional clients
  • Update CRM system & Report Sales pipeline to Senior management
  • Own and develop new sales opportunities to reach personal target
  • Work with your team & resources to research and analyse new opportunities
  • Be a relationship builder
  • Comply with all pre-bid governance processes to ensure authority to proceed
  • Operational understanding of at least one core business areas, i.e. M&E
  • Have a knowledge of mobilisations and key processes which govern financial, commercial, safety and performance of the business
  • Energetic, self-confident and self-disciplined person
  • A results-orientated individual who relishes challenges and being around people
  • Strong influencing and interpersonal skills with proven ability to quickly build relationships with new clients.
  • Articulate, innovative and challenging mindset with strong collaborative style
  • Strong organisational and project management skills with the ability to run a bid and work under pressure to strict deadlines
  • Excellent presentation, verbal and written communication skills with meticulous attention to detail
  • Understanding of at least one of the following: Hard FM/Technical Services, Property, Soft FM and/or business services
It will be even better if you have…
  • Degree qualified or equivalent
  • Experience in managing (and/or mobilising) operational contracts
  • Track record of winning B2B services deals (or in the absence of experience to demonstrate an understanding on how to win in the B2B marketplace)
  • Track record in developing and maintaining a pipeline of sales opportunities (or in the absence of experience to demonstrate a process for achieving this requirement)
  • Understanding of M&E services
