M&E Shift Engineer
Continental Shift Pattern
Flagship Commercial Building
City of London
 
Our client are a well established and privately owned UK commercial building services organisation, with a requirement for shift building services for a newly awarded and high profile commercial M&E maintenance contract. The site is located in the City of London, comprising mixed commercial/corporate tenants, alongside gym facilities, restaurants, etc. Working as part of a multi-skilled team covering planned and reactive maintenance to electrical and HVAC systems, the shift pattern is a traditional
24/7 continental, comprising days and nights 12 hour rotating shifts. Basic salary is around the £45-47k mark, as well as potential for overtime.

Candidates must be fully qualified in either electrical or mechanical engineering (Elec preferable), with at least five years of commercial building services maintenance. Along with core certificates, additional knowledge such as water treatment, HV authorisation, F-Gas training, etc will be beneficial and particular working knowledge should cover:

Electrical Fault-Finding, Single & Three Phase Power, Emergency Lighting, Fire Alarms, BMS Operation, Air Handling & Fan Coil Units, Diesel Generators, UPS Systems, VAV/VRFs, 1st line Chiller & Boiler faults, Motors, Pumps, Water Treatment (Tap Tests, Dosing, Cooling Tower Checks, etc).

Working in a high profile and newly awarded commercial building, the customer is looking for technically minded individuals who combine engineering aptitude with strong inter-personal skills. It will be important to foster a positive working relationship with various tenants and clients, as well as co-ordinating specialist subcontractors, escorting and permits, etc.

This is a high profile contract, at a newly awarded building, and represents an excellent chance for an ambitious and positive building services engineer to join a new team within a flagship central London building.
