Job descriptionWe are recruiting for an Engineering Supervisor to provide oversight to inhouse and sub-contracting engineers on a large industrial facility in the Cheshire East area. The role is also hands-on and will include carrying out, or assisting others in carrying out, maintenance, fault finding, repair, de-commissioning on a wide range Electrical, Mechanical, Control and Instrumentation equipment at the Site.
The role is a permanent position paying between 32000 - 42000 depending on skill level and experience.
Mon-Fri circa 7am-3pm. Some overtime on shutdowns (x1.5 & x2.0).
Supervision of work on CHP plant ensuring that all equipment is correctly operated and maintained to maximise plant operation efficiency and the safety of personnel at all times.
Perform duties and ensure others in the Team perform their duties in compliance with all applicable company and site safety rules, procedures and guidelines.
Provide local leadership team support for the Contract Manager.
Lead, manage and mentor all direct reports ensuring adequate training and development to maintain skill set, competency and succession.
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Day Supervisor shall undertake the role with minimum supervision, maintaining a flexible approach, focusing on the needs of the Client and effectively following the quality processes and procedures put in place, including pro-actively identifying areas for improvement.
Shall provide ad-hoc and emergency on-call rota cover
Carry out, or support others when carrying out, diagnosis and fault repairs on Electrical, Mechanical and Control and Instrumentation plant and equipment
Carry out, or support others when carrying out, preventative, predictive and emergency maintenance work in order to meet plant reliability and performance targets
Use SAP reports to develop a range of maintenance team schedules that allow efficient use of resources to complete both planned and unplanned activities in a prioritised manner
Create, maintain and support others in the Team to develop, high quality records and reports of maintenance activities to deliver useful plant history data which complies with all relevant statutory requirements
Ensure all record keeping functions are completed on a daily basis or as required
Ensure all work is carried out to the highest standards of workmanship and safety
Pro-active approach to SHEQ and identifying areas for improvement
Working flexibly within a team, contributes to defined operational and maintenance requirements in a safe and efficient manner, in accordance with SHEQ
procedures, to deliver identified targets
Supervise inhouse personnel and Suppliers / Contractors undertaking maintenance and / or project work on behalf of the Client
Knowledge and preferably proven experience and delivery of process plant operations, engineering and maintenance activities
Knowledge of Environmental, Health and Safety legislation and its impact on day to day operations
An understanding of the processes and systems required to develop and maintain a high standard of work quality
Minimum of BTEC National Certificate/City and Guilds Level 3 or equivalent in an Electro-Mechanical craft discipline
A formal health and safety related qualification e.g. IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent
Previous experience of supervising a small Operations and Maintenance Team with a proven track record
Previously appointed as Senior Authorised Person (SAP), Authorised Person (AP) and Competent Persons (CP) or equivalent
