Our customer are a well established commercial building services provider, who have a requirement for an engineering manager at a newly awarded M&E & HVAC maintenance contract in the City. This is a state of the art building, with a mixture of corporate office space, retail/hospitality, and public viewing gallery. Working as part of a team of engineering/technical managers, and reporting into both an account manager on the contractor side, as well as liaison / regular client meetings with managing agent.
Candidates will be fully qualified in electrical or mechanical engineering, ideally through a full apprenticeship, with at least five years of managing within the commercial building services environment. Those with HQ/flagship or tall building (15+ storeys) will be of particular interest, and specific training such as HV authorisation, F-Gas, AP for Electrical/Mechanical Systems, Legionella, etc is desirable. Particular working knowledge will cover:
Electrical & Mechanical Fault-Finding, Single & Three Phase power, Emergency Lighting, Fire Alarms, BMS Operation, Air Handling & Fan Coil Units, VAV/VRFs, Diesel Generators, UPS systems, Water Treatment (Cooling Towers, Dosing, etc), Motors, Pumps, etc.
The role will involve co-ordinating planned and reactive maintenance of the shift and day engineering teams, arranging regular service visits from specialist sub contractors, etc. Ensuring compliance for regular auditing and compliance of site. Some involvement with small project works, office fit out/moves & changes, etc.
