Job description

PRS are currently recruiting for a In House Senior Technician based in Debden, Essex. This role is based in Debden as part of the Operations and Maintenance team. The ideal candidate will be electrically biased  and ideally have experience of either HV/ LV Authorised Person for electrical safe systems of work due to the team make up and succession planning The role holder will be responsible for the delivery of planned preventative and reactive maintenance with additional project tasks allocated to self, ensuring all work is completed in accordance to agreed methods, risk assessments, SLAs and customer service standards. The role holder will be part of the team recognised as knowledgeable experts (Mechanical and/or Electrical) in areas that have been identified to safely and effectively maintain building services.In addition, you will act as a coach to their team (and wider where there is the need) to develop knowledge, skills and experience levels, this includes apprentices. The hours for this role will be Monday  - Friday /08.00-18.00.
Key Responsibilities
The delivery of Maintenance both reactive and planned and project activities that demand higher knowledge, skills and experience across a diverse site as Debden. Ensuring that all work is completed in accordance to agreed methods, risk assessments, service level agreements and customer service standards. You will be expected to coach the Technicians/Apprentices to develop their knowledge, skills and experience while always considering safe systems of work. To update all tasks completed in our CAFM system with quality information that is representative of the task. PPM task information derived should be reviewed and recommendation made for change where appropriate, reactive tasks capture root cause, etc. The data recorded is an essential input to how we manage the building services, contributing to planning, asset lifecycle and the capacity and demand of the Debden operation.To support the resolution of problems - these are normally more impacting underlying issues that need a number of resources to identify the problem, work up solution options. To support Standard and Emergency Operating Procedures (where there is a need). This will include a level of exercising to ensure role holders are proficient, and we have overall capability. To deliver continuous improvement of our services and to contribute to a positive team working environment.
Functional Knowledge
Qualifications: City & Guilds Level 3 Technician or equivalent (with significant experience) as a minimum.
Maintenance Experience: Exposure to a full range of reactive and planned maintenance regimes.
Building Services: A good understanding of building services (electrical, mechanical and fabric), systems and installations.
Safe Systems of Work: Authorised Person HV/ LV duties for Debden.
Health & Safety: Industry recognised qualification in H&S procedures (such as IOSH), but as a minimum having experience of completing H&S risk assessments.
CAFM: Experience of ‘Computer Aided Facilities Management’.
Statutory Requirements: In-depth knowledge of statutory compliance.
Systems & Plant Operating Instructions: Proven ability to learn and apply systems and plant operating instructions to a diagnostic level.
