Career Development
PRS are currently working on behalf of some commercial M&E consultancy firms who are looking to grow the technical teams within their facilities/maintenance divisions. Based from their Central London offices, and covering Central London as well as Home Counties, these business advise and liaise with end users and managing agent clients nationwide with regards to design, projects, maintenance, energy efficiency, all within the built environment. As such, they seek customer facing and technically minded people to join their busy desks to support both new instruction and servicing of existing client base.

Candidates will be fully qualified in electrical or mechanical engineering, while HND/Degree Level qualification in Mech/Elec/Building Services Engineering are preferable. In terms of practical experience, ideally this will take the form of existing M&E consultancy experience or a minimum of three years in a supervisory/management role for a 3rd party M&E services provider. Additional training such as IOSH Managing Safely/NEBOSH, PRINCE2, etc will be beneficial, with particular duties including:
  • Asset Verification
  • Lifecycle analysis of M&E plant
  • Dilapidation Reports
  • Energy Efficiency surveys
  • Technical Report writing
  • Contract Tender Advice
  • Project Works – plant replacement, office moves, etc.
Their client base are commercial real estate organisations, managing agents and end users – as such a customer facing and personal approach are key, as well as being able to manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously. With the nature of report writing, candidates must also possess good computer literacy.

This is a great opportunity for an existing senior/consulting engineer in the industry to join growing firms, or alternatively a chance for someone perhaps on the M&E contractor side, working within facilities maintenance, to move into a specialized field with a varied client based and different sites, breaking up the monotony of managing the same building/s week in and week out.
