Job description

We are recruiting for a commercial maintenance plumber to cover PPM and reactive maintenance on a static basis in the Preston area covering 5 buildings in walking distance of each other. The plumber will be responsible for all repairs and upkeep to the water and mechanical services on commercial facilities across the area plus all low level fabric tasks. This is a temp role for 3 months with a possible extension but not guaranteed, pay rate is £13.00ph + holiday pay on a PAYE basis, 40 hours per week, Monday – Friday, driving licence required




Plumber Description:

To look after all buildings on site completing reactive repairs, planned maintenance and all low level fabric tasks/duties covering the following plant:

Hot and cold-water feeds

Pumps and valves

Non-Gas Boiler work

Radiators and heating

Drainage

Bathroom / toilet pipework and water services

Fabric maintenance duties – basic joinery, painting etc.

Leak repair

Water heaters and cylinders

Water Tank

L8 prevention and thermostatic mixer valves

Plus other associated tasks




Plumber Requirements:

Candidates will be time served and have as a minimum City and Guilds in Plumbing / Mech Engineering

Applicants are expected to have several years prior experience some of which will have been in a similar role and have good customer skills.

It is essential staff are self-motivated and promote a “Can do” customer attitude at all times.

Valid driving license (company vehicle available on site when required)

Ability and desire to complete general fabric maintenance tasks

Mechanically skilled engineer with a knowledge of Building services (water, heating, ventilation and waste)

Be prepared to undertake training as required by the post and the contract manager.

Operate all systems within the building in a competent, effective and efficient manner, adhering to relevant guidelines and bulletins.
