Mechanical Engineering Supervisor
London – Healthcare Contract
£40,000 to £45,000
 
PRS Are pleased to be working with one of our key clients in their recruitment of a Mechanical Engineering Supervisor.  The role of Mechanical Engineering Supervisor is attend and complete Mechanical and Plumbing related reactive and chargeable works whilst assisting in the management of PPM’s across the portfolio across 14 buildings.
 
The role will form part of the team who provide first line support for all reactive calls reported by the NHS Trust and Staff on site. Our client provide service delivery support for the Hospital for all M&E Services.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • To attend and complete reactive Mechanical and Plumbing works within their Service Level Agreements for Attendance, Response and Completion
  • Responsible for maintaining mechanical installations, repairs and maintenance to M&E Plant and Building Fabric
  • Completing Planned Maintenance in line with SFG20 and HTM Guidelines
  • Complete proactive inspections, remedial repairs and installations
  • To provide support to the wider Engineering Day Team in the event of an emergency call
  • To support in providing cost information for chargeable Mechanical and Plumbing works on site
  • To provide updates to the Helpdesk Co-ordinator on a regular basis to ensure the CAFM System is up to date
  • Ventilation AP duties under HTM
  • Water RP duties under HTM
  • Carry out daily checks of plant rooms and equipment
  • Become part of the on call rota for site operating a 1in 4 rota
  • Ensuring planned maintenance services are scheduled and completed on time
  • Ensuring that compliance documents; contract and HTM logbooks are fully up to date and audit ready
  • Resolving technical issues on site by providing assistance and support to the engineering team or arranging for specialist sub-contractor attendance
  • Conduct preventative maintenance and fault diagnosis and manage the corrective action and reports/quotations require
 
Person Specification/Requirements
  • Experience of working within an NHS or Healthcare environment would be advantageous
  • Demonstrable experience within a similar role
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with people of all levels
  • NVQ Level 3 in Plumbing/Heating or equivalent
  • Qualifications related to Steam and Pressure Systems advantageous
  • Demonstrate thorough knowledge of all building services; particularly A/C and BMS
  • Demonstrate previous experience in fault finding with various systems (M&E)
  • Ability to fault find on both Mechanical and Electrical Plant and Equipment
  • Demonstrate knowledge of L8 Compliance
