Job descriptionWe are recruiting for a large FM client who is seeking a building services mechanical maintenance engineer (commercial plumber) to work on a mobile basis across the Edinburgh and Fife areas. The work will cover the general upkeep and maintenance of mechanical plant both PPM and reactive works plus small works projects. The candidate will be from the HVAC or building services sector with experience of FM and maintenance contracts. They may also upskill a suitable candidate with Commercial ACS if the role goes permament.
This is a temporary ongoing contract working 40 hours per week, paying £16-£19ph.
Your role will be to complete the mechanical plant and general HVAC maintenance. You will cover planned and unplanned work requests to ensure a safe service with minimum disruption to the operation of the client. The main aspects of the role will be to:
Deliver a responsive breakdown and planned preventative maintenance service
Pumps and valves
Tanks and cylinders
AHU’s and venting
Water and waste
Work to all H&S policies / procedures and safe systems of work for Estates related works in accordance with statutory requirements
Complete project works / small works and refurbishment
Assist in with of M&E engineers on the Building Services plant and kit
An suitable mechanical Apprenticeship and a City and Guilds or equivalent is required for this role.
The successful candidate will have experience in mechanical plant maintenance within a large organisation coordinating and general HVAC maintenance.
Experience of AHU’s, venting and fan coil units
Boiler (non-Gas) and general plumbing experience
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Familiar with FM and Building Services
Willingness to take ownership of the maintenance and develop within the position
Willingness to complete general maintenance tasks
