Mechanical Maintenance Engineer - Hatfield

Corporate Commercial Office 

Monday to Friday, split days (7am - 4pm and 9am - 6pm)

Salary up to £45,000

1 in 4 Call out 

Overtime available

Our client is looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join their Contract overseeing Mechanical PPMs and reactive maintenance as well as other Mechanical duties. This role will be working in a corporate commercial office enviornment, the successful candidate will be rewarded with a fantastic package including up to £45K salary, clear progression path, overtime, pension, and career stability.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Operate all systems within the buildings in a competent, effective, and efficient manner.
  • Issue relevant site Permits as part of the Safe System of Work.
  • Completion of PPM and Reactive Tasks and update the electronic workflow system.
  • Ensure that daily checks are completed and repair, report any defects found via the FM helpdesk.
  • Identification of materials required to be ordered & installed in a timely manner.
  • Comply with both statutory and company health, safety and environmental regulations and policies.
  • Timely implementation and recording of statutory inspections including accurate recording within their specified logbooks.
  • Ensure that Specialist Service Provider worksheets are reviewed & signed off, the quality of work is inspected, and recommendations are escalated to the Supervisor.
  • The Site team will ensure that Plant areas, workshops, stores, changing/rest areas etc. are kept to the highest level of housekeeping
The Engineer will be expected to work, and trouble shoot all building systems but not be limited to the following:
  • Building Management Systems & Electrical Monitoring.
  • HVAC Systems, Including Humidifiers.
  • Air Handling, Air Conditioning & Chillers.
  • Sound knowledge of VAV & FCU Systems.
  • Domestic Water Services & Plumbing.
  • Pumps, Motors & Variable Speed Drive.
  • Gas Boilers.
  • Hot Water Calorifiers.
  • Approved apprenticeship or appropriate experience within Building Services
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to deal with staff and Customers at all levels
  • Recognised qualification in mechanical engineering.
  • Experience as an end user of a Building Management Systems (Trend).
  • Intermediate computer literacy using Windows Office applications (Word, Excel, and Outlook) PDA & Tablet use.
  • Self-motivated and able to work on own initiative as well as part of a team.
  • Excellent numeracy and literacy skills, with experience of report writing.
  • Be able to adapt and work as a team outside of their trade but within their capabilities.
C&G or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering.
NVQ Level 2 Equivalent in Plumbing & Heating Systems.
Pressure Systems Certification of Competencies.
Legionella Awareness – L8 ACOP.
FGAS or Gas Safe Trained.
Be conversant with current Health and Safety legislation with relevance to safe working practices.
Sound level of administration/organisational skills & computer skills. Apply for this job
