Job descriptionWe are recruiting for a large FM client who is seeking a building services mechanical maintenance engineer to work on a prestigious facility in the Manchester area. The work will cover the general upkeep and maintenance of mechanical plant both PPM and reactive works plus small works projects. The work will cover plumbing, pipework, valves, pumps, AHU's and Fan Coils etc.
The role is a temporary position (with a view to transfer permanent). Mon-Fri circa 37.5 hours per week (days).
£14.00 - £17.00/hr depending on pay status/method.
Your role will be to complete the mechanical plant and general plant room maintenance. You will cover planned and unplanned work requests to ensure a safe service with minimum disruption to the operation of the client. The main aspects of the role will be to:
* Deliver a responsive breakdown and planned preventative maintenance service
Pumps and valves
Tanks and cylinders
AHU’s and venting
Fan Coil Units
Tap Temps and anti-legionella processes
General Air conditioning (non-F Gas)
Water and waste
* Work to all H&S policies / procedures and safe systems of work for related works in accordance with statutory requirements
* Complete project works / small works and refurbishment
* Assist in with of M&E engineers on the Building Services plant and kit
Mechanical Engineer Person Specification
An suitable mechanical Apprenticeship and a City and Guilds or equivalent is required for this role.
The successful candidate will have experience in mechanical plant maintenance on large scale estates
Experience of AHU’s, venting and fan coil units
Boiler (non-Gas) and general plumbing experience
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Familiar with FM and Building Services
Willingness to take ownership of the maintenance and develop within the position
Willingness to complete general maintenance tasks
