Excellent opportunity for a building services sector Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join a busy and successful maintenance team on a prestigious facility in the Chester area.

We are looking for driven, professional and multiskilled engineers to assist in the HVAC maintenance within the estate.

The role will involve PPM and reactive maintenance to the mechanical pant such as AHU’s, fan coils, pumps, pressure systems etc. plus minor installs.

The shift pattern is Monday to Friday circa 40 hours per week based on a rotating shift pattern:

Week one = 06:00 – 15:00

Week two = 14:45 – 23:45

Salary is 31.5k plus 4k shift allowance = 35.5k

Overtime available

On call one in four


Within the mechanical maintenance engineer role you will be carrying out all planned preventative and reactive maintenance tasks across the facility. The role will require a flexible approach as you will often be called to carryout or support works that are outside your core discipline.

Duties & Responsibilities

To undertake planned and reactive maintenance tasks on AHU's, fan coils, pumps, venting and associated mechanical plant

To complete PPM’s in line with SLA and KPI agreements

To provide H&S and compliance engineering on each facility

To undertake minor installation works

To undertake basic electrical works on the BMS, power supply, lighting, power generation, HVAC, UPS, A/C units, etc

To respond to Helpdesk requests, providing a professional and timely service

To support the other members of the maintenance team with ad-hoc tasks across all disciplines

Skills & Background Required :

Recognised professional qualification e.g. City & Guilds

Mechanical maintenance background

Proven building maintenance experience within a commercial environment

Must be presentable and reliable

Able to build good relationships at all levels, internally and externally

Strong planning and workload management skills with the ability to manage short term and long term activities to agreed deadlines
