**Critical Facilities Maintenance Lead Engineer - Essex**
Location: Essex
Salary: £Competitive
Hours – Days Monday to Friday 8AM – 5PM

Our client who has built their reputation for over 40 years are looking for a Critical Facilities Maintenance Lead Engineer to join their Reactive and Planned Maintenance Team on a Data Centre Site based in Essex. The successful candidate will be required to work a Days Monday to Friday and will be rewarded with a Competitive Salary

As the new Critical Facilities Maintenance Lead Engineer you will report directly to the Critical Facilities Maintenance Manager you will be responsible for the shift patterns delivery of Facility Management (FM) services, ensuring operational performance and efficiency is always maintained to the highest possible standards. Provide engineering support and guidance in general on property matters affecting the on-going management and development of the site.
You will be responsible for the management of the shift engineers on your working pattern, including but not limited to ensuring training matrix are up to date, ensure that all planned absences are covered, and scenario drills are completed. You will provide technical support and leadership across the shift including first line response to any incidents that arise. Working with other shift leads, all handovers will be completed and documented using the agreed process. You will provide engineering services and guidance on facility matters affecting the day to day management and development of the critical and non-critical infrastructure. 
Your Responsibilities 
  • Maintain and supervise the site shift engineering team
  • Work closely with the Critical Facilities Maintenance Manager and maintain responsibility for ensuring services are delivered in accordance with best practice processes and procedures
  • Manage the CAFM system and ticketing queues RAMS approval and SOPs
  • Maintain a high standard of planned preventative and reactive maintenance
  • Ensure there is continuous development of the sites Emergency Operations Procedures and Standard Operations Procedures
  • Carry out operational and maintenance activities as directed, ensuring work is executed in a safe and compliant manner
  • Manage the site permit and safe systems of work processes
  • Promote Critical Engineering Best Practice
  • Assist in resolving technical issues with site operations and fill in for CCFM when required
  • Maintain and promote high standards of Health and Safety in line with requirements
  • Be the first level of escalation for technical and non-technical issues for the shift engineering team
  • Support the shift engineering teams to ensure correct operation of the critical services of the Datacenters
  • Maintain a proactive involvement in the on-going technical evaluation of all plant and equipment, and provide suggestions of improvements where appropriate
  • Ensure site logbook systems are current and correct and maintained in accordance with the respective compliance
  • Act as an Authorised Person for the SSOW for both Low Voltage and High Voltage systems
  • Identify faults and accurately diagnose root causes
  • Monitor and maintain equipment performance to ensure correct operation of the critical services of the Datacenters
  • Supervise both in-house staff and contractors to deliver a highly focussed customer service
  • Attend other datacentre sites as required.
  • Perform any other reasonable duty or request as deemed appropriate by Management
  • Keep site logbooks up to date and complete regular reviews and audits of equipment where required
Your Profile
  • Experience in facilities, operations or engineering; in a Data Center critical environment
  • Working knowledge and understanding of engineering operations within Mission Critical Environments
  • Creating and developing SOP and EOP documentation and other related/similar processes
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • A flexible but non-comprising approach to service delivery
  • Ability to present complex technical problems and resolution options in a clear well thought out easy to understand way.
  • Comprehensive mechanical engineering understanding
  • LV Switching experience (HV an advantage)
  • AP12 LV/ AP15 HV Authorised Person
  • Demonstrable experience in operating and fault finding complex and integrated M&E systems including (Transformers, LV, Generators, UPS, Electrical distribution, BMS, Air Conditioning, Fire suppression systems)
  • 17th or 18th Edition certified (or comparable) electrical qualification, ideally electrical test & inspection
  • HND or similar in relevant area (Mechanical, Electrical, Building Services)
  • IOSH – Working Safely
  • L8 Legionella Management
  • Full driving license valid for use in the UK
  • To undergo full security checks to BS7858:2019 standard
