Job descriptionWe are recruiting for an Sustainability and Environment Officer to audit and assess the processes, site assets and buildings in respect of energy usage and future sustainability planning on a prestigious self contained estate in the Leeds area.
The role will involve implementing improved practices and recommendations to ensure energy and operational efficiency to M&E plant, building condition, waste and water practices and general operational processes within the on site teams.
The post holder will be required to keep abreast of regulatory changes and in Energy usage and Net Zero incentives.
The role is a Permanent position paying circa 35k-42k basic
Mon-Fri days 35 hour working week
25 days holidays (plus stat) rising to 30 days (plus stat)
The position will require the candidate to assess, recommend and implement energy usage processes and strategic focus to achieve short, medium and long term targets.
This will encompass multiple estate departments and building plan/usage including:
- Estate Energy consumption and wastage
- Waste Management including grey water
- HVAC usage and operation
- M&E plant usage and operation
- Operational practices and process within the facility
- Asset and condition surveys - building and roofing
You will be responsible for making recommendations involving:
- Improved working and operational practices regarding HVAC plant equipment
- Innovative plant
- Compliance warning and future planning and proofing
- Energy efficiency reporting
- Energy Conservation
- Regulatory adherence
- Net Zero recommendations
- Sustainability best practice
The ideal candidate will have a personal and professional interest in energy conservation and the delivery of future sustainability within large scale estates
Experience of asset surveying, energy auditing, innovative plant, net zero planning and strategic focus
Knowledge of current governmental energy and waste regulations, net zero schemes and incentives
Willingness to provide recommendations on buildings, plant and operational practice
Familiar with large scale estates and associated Facilities Management
Able to actively pursue intel on new regulatory changes, energy saving schemes and incentives and provide clear guidance for the strategic delivery of net zero and associated programs
Ideally to have some understanding of M&E, HVAC and plant room equipment but the candidate does not need to be a former engineer
