A global leader within the property & real estate market, with a client list spanning a range of sectors across commercial clients within managing agent, healthcare and critical engineering among others, seek an experienced individual at one of their financial services accounts. Based in the City of London HQ for a high-profile North American trading organisation, with offices across US, UK & EMEA, this firm seek an experienced Mechanical bias engineering / technical services manager to help manage delivery of HVAC and critical engineering services within the building as part of a multi-skilled engineering team plus FM support. Guideline salary for this position is circa £80-90,000, along with associated package. This includes car allowance of £5,000 and a discretionary annual bonus of up to 20%, healthcare, pension scheme, etc.

Candidates must be fully qualified in mechanical engineering or air conditioning, ideally through a full apprenticeship within commercial building services. In addition to this, a minimum of 5+ years experience as an engineering manager working within a similar critical environment (Banking / Data Centre) or demanding corporate HQ. 

Along with core mechanical qualifications, there is an expectation the succesful candidate will have experience holding AP status around HVAC systems including Water, Lifts, Pressure Systems and even High / Low Voltage AP training. ILM, NEBOSH / IOSH or further professional membership would also be desirable.

Working systems knowledge should include:

Air Handling & Fan Coil Units, Pumps, Motors, BMS Operation, Booster Sets, Pressurisation Units, Diesel Generators, Water Treatment, Water Treatment, Cooling Towers, UPS Systems, HV & LV Distribution (Annual Shut-downs, Black Building Tests, etc), Water Chillers, VRV/VRFs, etc.

Day-to-day duties will cover:

This is an exciting opportunity for a technically minded engineering / technical services manager to join a fast-paced HQ environment for one of the leaders within commercial building services. While a strong engineering mindset is vital, just as important are the soft skills – fostering a strong relationship with client, being responsive / communicating with speed and clarity around building issues and liaising with landlord engineering team. As part of a larger division with other financial accounts, there will be the opportunity to grow in this role to manage further sites both within this single client as well as the larger business, so would suit an ambitious, dynamic manager with an eye on career development.
