Day Shift Mechanical Maintenance Engineer
Location: Southeast London
Salary: £48,000 + Call-Out Allowance
Contract: Permanent, Full-Time
About the RoleAn opportunity has arisen for a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join the in-house engineering team at a landmark public entertainment facility in Southeast London. This is a direct employment position with the facility and forms part of a well-established, professional maintenance department.
Working as part of a day shift team, you will be responsible for both planned and reactive mechanical maintenance across a broad range of building services systems. The facility operates a continental shift pattern, which includes a mix of early and late day shifts (7am–7pm and 12pm–12am).
Key duties will include maintenance and repair of:
– HVAC systems including fan coil units, AHUs, cooling towers, and pumps
– Plumbing systems including leak repairs and resolving blockages
– Mechanical plant repairs such as replacing bearings, pump seals, valves, etc.
Candidate RequirementsApplicants must hold a minimum of City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering, and ideally will have worked in a large-scale or public-facing environment.
The ideal candidate will also:
– Be comfortable carrying out both PPM and responsive repair work
– Be confident with mechanical fault finding and component replacement
– Work in line with current health and safety legislation
– Be well presented, courteous, and comfortable in a public-facing setting
Package and Benefits- Base salary: £47,750
– On-call rota: approx. 3 nights per month (£19 standby per night + premium rate call-outs, minimum 4 hours paid if called out)
