Shift Engineer – Luxury Residential Apartments (Building Services / Facilities)London Shift Pattern (Days & Nights) | Full-Time | Permanent £47,500 + Benefits + Training + Career Development
Overview An exciting opportunity for an experienced Shift Engineer / Facilities Engineer / Building Services Engineer to join a prestigious luxury residential development in London.

The Role As a Shift Engineer, you will be responsible for the operation, maintenance, and reliability of all building services systems across a luxury residential site.
You will work across:
- Electrical distribution systems
- Boilers, pumps, and pipework
- Chillers and HVAC systems (AHUs, FCUs, ventilation)
- Building Management Systems (BMS)
- General M&E and building infrastructure
Key Responsibilities Maintenance & Plant Operations
- Maintain and operate mechanical and electrical plant safely and efficiently
- Deliver Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance
- Diagnose faults and repair HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems
- Ensure compliance with statutory regulations and site procedures
- Maintain accurate records in building logbooks and CAFM systems
- Support audits and ensure all certifications are current
- Monitor and respond to BMS alarms and system faults
- Adjust system settings and schedules to optimise performance
- Deliver a high level of service to residents and stakeholders
- Respond promptly to helpdesk requests via Building Link / CAFM
- Provide clear updates on work progress and completion
- Respond to incidents and alarms according to site procedures
- Support fire alarm, sprinkler, and emergency system operations
- Liaise with emergency services as required
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in building services or facilities engineering
- Electrical or Mechanical qualification (City & Guilds / NVQ Level 3 or equivalent)
- Strong knowledge of M&E systems and plant equipment
- Experience with BMS and CAFM systems
- Proven fault-finding and maintenance experience
- Experience in luxury residential or 5-star/high-end environments
- Strong customer-facing experience
- Multi-skilled across electrical and mechanical disciplines
- High attention to detail and professionalism
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Proactive, reliable, and well-presented
- Ability to work effectively in a shift-based team
