As a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer, you will play a key role in maintaining and improving site operations, ensuring machinery and production equipment remains reliable, efficient, and safe.
Working as part of an experienced engineering team, your responsibilities will include:
- Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on mechanical plant and equipment
- Diagnosing and repairing mechanical faults across production machinery and site systems
- Maintaining pumps, motors, bearings, conveyors, gearboxes, valves, and hydraulic/pneumatic systems
- Completing inspections, servicing, adjustments, and mechanical improvements
- Responding quickly to breakdowns to minimise downtime and maintain production efficiency
- Supporting machinery installations, upgrades, and continuous improvement projects
- Carrying out mechanical repairs, component replacements, alignment, and lubrication tasks
- Assisting with root cause analysis and implementing long-term solutions
- Ensuring all maintenance activities are completed safely and in line with company procedures
- Maintaining accurate service records and reporting recurring faults
You will ideally have:
- A recognised mechanical engineering qualification (Apprenticeship, City & Guilds, NVQ, or equivalent)
- Previous experience within an industrial, manufacturing, or production environment
- Strong mechanical maintenance and fault-finding skills
- Experience working with pumps, motors, conveyors, hydraulics, and pneumatics
- The ability to work independently and as part of a wider engineering team
- A positive attitude with a desire to learn and progress
