M&E Shift Engineer – Bath – £47,500 (Rising to £50,000)

Location: Bath
Salary: £47,500 per annum (rising to £50,000 after successful completion of probation)
Hours: Continental shift pattern – 12-hour shifts

Due to continued expansion at a key site, we’re recruiting M&E Shift Engineers (Electrical, Mechanical, or Air Conditioning backgrounds) to join a leading facilities management provider for a Critical Environment near Bath.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance tasks
  • Respond to emergency callouts and fault situations
  • Complete logbooks, RAMS, and relevant documentation
  • Attend client meetings and provide technical support
  • Conduct emergency lighting testing
  • Perform electrical works including lighting, wiring, testing, alarm systems, and BMS
  • Maintain and operate Building Management Systems (BMS)
  • Work on air conditioning systems including DX, chilled water, and adiabatic AHUs
  • Maintain generators, controls, and UPS systems
  • Work on AC/DC systems including single and three-phase motors
  • Support HV/LV systems maintenance
  • Carry out basic building fabric tasks (e.g., toilets, drainage, tiling, sinks)

Requirements:

  • Trade qualified with ideally 3+ years’ experience in building services
  • City & Guilds Level 3 in Electrical (or equivalent)
  • Strong understanding of building services systems (AHU, FCU, UPS, generators, LV systems)
  • Proven fault-finding ability across mechanical and/or electrical systems
  • Excellent communication skills with strong client-facing experience
