Our client are a global property and real estate organisation, with a number of high profile accounts across corporate offices, healthcare, financial services and other sectors. Within their critical services division, they currently seek a multi-skilled (electrical-bias ideally) Shift Leader to work at a high profiled Banking organisation’s UK Headquarter building close to Liverpool Street, London. Working on a 24/7 “continental” shift pattern, the role will involve taking responsibility for planned and reactive duties across mechanical, electrical and general HVAC / Building Services for the building and managing a small team. Guideline salary for this position is £60k basic salary, and on top of this is a shift allowance of £1,500. In time and subject to sign off from divisional authorizing engineer, there will also be an annual bonus for passing and being approved for AP status.
Dut to the critical nature of the site (Financial Services / Trading Floors), the client seeks strong multi-skilled engineers who can combine a technical mindset with a customer focused approach. Candidates must be fully qualified in either electrical or mechanical engineering (ideally through a full apprenticeship), with at least five years of relevant experience within a similar M&E / building services maintenance role within a similar corporate environment for example a Bank / Global Firms HQ, etc. Along with core qualifications, a current or previous HV / LV AP status is preferred. Other desirable qualifications include L8, F-Gas, 2391, IOSH/NEBOSH, etc.
Particular working knowledge should extend to: Single & Three Phase Power, Emergency Lighting, Fire Alarms, Pumps & Motors, Air Handling & Fan Coil Units, BMS Operation, Water Treatment (Taps, Cooling Towers), Pressurisation Units, VRV/VRFs, Diesel Generators, UPS Systems, HV / LV Distribution (AP Status, Switching & Site Shutdowns, Permits), VRV/VRFs, 1st line Chiller & Boiler Faults, etc.
This is an exciting chance to work in a high-spec environment in the City of London, and will suit a shift leader or M&E supervisor experienced working in a similar financial / corporate environment keen to further their experience within that specialist field. This is a highly critical building, where a strong technical experience is needed as well as good communication skills to liaise with both management, on-site tenants as well as the direct reports as part of the shift team. With potential to further career through training and development at a high-profile contract, this is the opportunity to join a market leader within critical environments maintenance.
