Salary: £95,000–£120,000 + Bonus + Car Allowance + Healthcare + Pension
Role Purpose:
The Senior Project Manager is responsible for leading the full lifecycle delivery of hyperscale data centre construction projects or major work packages. The role ensures construction activities across CSA, electrical, and mechanical systems are delivered safely, on programme, within budget, and in compliance with contractual and client technical requirements.
Reporting Structure:
Reports to Project Director
Direct Reports: Construction Managers, Engineers, Package Managers
Technical Scope:
• 132kV / 33kV substations
• MV/LV distribution systems
• UPS systems (2MW modules)
• Generator infrastructure
• Cooling systems including chillers and CRAH units
• Data halls and central utility buildings
Key Responsibilities:
Project Delivery and Execution:
• Lead delivery from mobilisation through commissioning and handover
• Manage multidisciplinary construction teams and subcontractors
• Ensure delivery aligns with programme milestones and sequencing
Programme and Planning:
• Manage programme using Primavera P6
• Identify critical path risks and mitigation strategies
• Coordinate delivery to support commissioning readiness
Commercial and Contract Management:
• Monitor project commercial performance
• Manage subcontractor compliance and variations
• Support cost forecasting and reporting
Client and Stakeholder Management:
• Interface with client delivery teams
• Lead progress and coordination meetings
• Provide detailed delivery reporting
Commissioning Integration:
• Coordinate with commissioning teams
• Ensure infrastructure is delivered to commissioning standards
• Support integrated systems testing and operational handover
Candidate Requirements:
• Tier 1 contractor experience
• Data centre or mission-critical experience
• Strong leadership and delivery capability
