Job Title: Multi-Skilled Foot-Mobile Engineer – Commercial Buildings
Location: Central London
Hours: Monday to Friday, 40 Hours per week
Salary: £45,000 + Travel Covered + Overtime
The Opportunity
A well-established Facilities Management provider is looking to appoint a Multi-Skilled Foot-Mobile Engineer to cover a portfolio of commercial buildings across Central London.
This is a role for an engineer who prefers variety over routine. Instead of being tied to one site, the successful candidate will move between multiple buildings, supporting day-to-day maintenance and responding to issues as they arise. Each day brings a different challenge, different systems, and a different environment. The portfolio is well-managed, with sites located within close proximity, making this a practical and efficient foot-mobile route.
Why This Role Stands Out
- Work across a diverse range of commercial properties
- No two days feel the same – genuine variety in workload
- All travel between sites is covered and planned efficiently
- Join a supportive team with strong back-office coordination
- A stable, long-term contract with a reputable FM provider
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned preventive maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across multiple sites
- Maintain and fault-find on electrical systems, including lighting, power, and emergency lighting
- Support mechanical systems such as HVAC plant, pumps, motors, and basic plumbing
- Attend and resolve faults quickly, ensuring minimal disruption to building occupants
- Carry out general building services tasks across landlord areas and tenanted spaces
- Ensure all work is completed in line with health & safety and compliance standards
- Keep accurate records of all work completed using site systems and logbooks
- Liaise with building managers, tenants, and subcontractors in a professional manner
The Ideal Candidate The role suits a self-sufficient, organised engineer who is comfortable working independently and managing their own workload across multiple sites. Strong communication and a practical mindset are key.
Essential:
- Recognised electrical qualification (NVQ / C&G Level 3 or equivalent)
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
- Experience working in commercial building maintenance
- Multi-skilled ability with basic mechanical knowledge (HVAC, pumps, plumbing)
- Strong fault-finding skills and the ability to work independently
- Good communication and a professional approach when dealing with clients and tenants
Desirable:
- Previous experience in a foot-mobile or mobile FM role
- Familiarity with BMS systems
- Experience working across multiple sites or contracts
What’s On Offer
- Competitive salary
- Travel costs fully covered between sites
- Regular overtime opportunities
- Stable, long-term role within a respected FM provider
- Exposure to a wide range of buildings and systems
- Supportive management and well-organised contract structure
This role is ideal for engineers who prefer to stay active, manage their own day, and avoid being tied to a single site. Apply now to join a well-run foot-mobile contract covering some of Central London’s busiest and most varied commercial buildings.
