We’re recruiting for a Critical M&E Engineer to join one of the world’s leading data centre operators at their state-of-the-art facility in Woking. Working within a mission-critical environment where 100% uptime is essential, you’ll be responsible for the planned and reactive maintenance of electrical and mechanical infrastructure across the site.
Your duties will include:
- Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance
- Responding to plant alarms, faults and emergency callouts
- Fault finding across critical electrical and mechanical systems
- Operating and maintaining building services plant
- Completing maintenance documentation, permits to work, RAMS and logbooks
- Supporting electrical switching and isolation procedures
- Monitoring critical plant performance through the BMS
- Supervising specialist subcontractors when required
- Supporting technical audits and compliance activities
- Building strong relationships with the client and wider engineering team
You’ll be working on equipment including:
- UPS systems
- Standby generators
- LV power distribution
- Switchgear and transformers
- Chillers
- CRAC/CRAH units
- AHUs & FCUs
- Pumps and associated HVAC plant
- Building Management Systems (BMS)
- Emergency lighting
- Electrical distribution and control systems
We’re keen to speak with engineers from either an Electrical or Mechanical background who have experience working within critical or commercial building services environments.
You’ll ideally have:
- A recognised Electrical or Mechanical qualification (City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent)
- Experience maintaining commercial or critical building services
- Good fault-finding skills across electrical and/or mechanical systems
- Strong knowledge of HVAC and building services plant
- Experience with UPS, generators, LV systems or cooling equipment
- Excellent communication and client-facing skills
- A proactive approach to maintenance and problem solving
Previous experience within a data centre, banking, healthcare or other critical environment would be advantageous, but is not essential. Engineers from commercial building services backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
