Electrical & Mechanical Maintenance Technician’s (East Kent)
Location: East Kent (based at sites in either Canterbury, Ashford, Margate)
Salary £42,000 – £44,000 (dependent on experience
Overtime opportunities

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 4:00pm & 2:00pm – 10:00pm
Contract: Permanent, Full-Time
The Role
We are seeking experienced Multi-Skilled Maintenance Technicians to join a large established facilities team, supporting three sites across East Kent. There is a requirement for both electrically and mechanically biased engineers based across the three sites. These are key positions that ensure the safe and efficient operation of essential building services and engineering systems.
As an Electrical or Mechanical Maintenance Technician, you will play a central role in maintaining, repairing, and improving a wide range of mechanical and electrical systems that support critical healthcare operations.
Your duties will include:
- Planned and reactive maintenance across mechanical and electrical systems.
- Ensuring compliance with statutory and company safety procedures.
- Carrying out testing, inspections, and recording results accurately.
- Responding promptly to technical issues to minimise downtime.
Systems you may work on include emergency lighting, power systems, Power Generators, Air Handling Units (critical and non-critical), air conditioning, thermostatic mixing valves, pumps, taps, and blended outlets.
About You
We are looking for experienced Maintenance Engineers that Must be multi-skilled and have technical qualifications (City & Guilds or equivalent) in either mechanical or electrical engineering disciplines, supported by a solid understanding of compliance and health and safety standards.
You should also be able to demonstrate:
- Proven experience in maintenance of building services in commercial or industrial environments
- Good working knowledge of statutory compliance requirements
- A proactive and safety-conscious approach to your work
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- The ability to work independently and as part of a wider team.
