Hard Services Facilities Manager
Location: Winchester
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm
Salary: 50-55k+ Car Allowance + Benefits
PRS Recruitment is partnering with a leading organisation within the facilities management sector to recruit a Hard Services Facilities Manager for a high-profile commercial portfolio. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced FM professional to take ownership of engineering operations, lead a skilled team, and ensure the smooth running of critical building services.
This role would suit someone with a strong technical background who enjoys managing people, driving service improvements and maintaining high standards of compliance across a busy operational environment.
The Opportunity You will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of all technical maintenance services, ensuring buildings remain safe, compliant and fully operational. Working closely with both internal teams and stakeholders, you’ll be responsible for performance, planning and the overall success of the maintenance operation.
This is a hands-on management role requiring excellent leadership skills, commercial awareness and a proactive approach to problem solving.
Responsibilities
- Take overall responsibility for the delivery of mechanical, electrical and building services maintenance across the contract.
- Lead and support a team of engineers, supervisors and specialist contractors to deliver a first-class maintenance service.
- Ensure preventative maintenance schedules are effectively planned and completed to maximise equipment reliability.
- Manage reactive maintenance activities, prioritising works and ensuring response times are achieved.
- Maintain full compliance with statutory legislation, industry regulations and health & safety requirements.
- Monitor contract performance through service reports, audits and operational reviews, implementing improvements where required.
- Oversee specialist service providers, ensuring work is completed safely, on time and to the required standard.
- Manage maintenance expenditure, monitor budgets and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
- Build strong working relationships with key stakeholders, providing regular updates on operational performance.
- Support the planning and delivery of refurbishment works, asset replacement programmes and minor capital projects.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement, ensuring best practice is embedded across the engineering team.
- Ensure maintenance records and asset information are accurately managed through CAFM and digital maintenance systems.
About You To be successful, you should have:
- Previous experience managing hard services within a commercial facilities management environment.
- A recognised Mechanical or Electrical qualification.
- Experience leading engineering teams within complex or multi-building environments.
- Strong understanding of planned and reactive maintenance strategies.
- Knowledge of statutory compliance, health & safety legislation and building services regulations.
- Experience managing contractors and specialist suppliers.
- The ability to interpret technical information and make informed operational decisions.
- Strong financial awareness with experience managing maintenance budgets.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills with the ability to build positive client relationships.
- Experience using CAFM or computerised maintenance management systems.
- A full UK Driving Licence.
