Position: Maintenance Engineer (multi-skilled with electrical bias)
Location: Hatfield , Hertfordshire (on-site)
Salary: circa £46K plus benefits package
Shift: Shift patterns are;- 06:00am-14:00pm AND 14:00pm-22:00pm (5 days a week)

PRS Engineering has engaged with a new client a leading technology specialist, manufacturing hardware and delivering technology solutions across the globe. Due to increase in demand and a rise in production, we are seeking 2 Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer or Shift Engineers on a permanent basis. Ideally the Multi-Skilled Engineer will have an electrical bias.
In this role, you will work to ensure that the highest standards in maintenance are consistently achieved. As part of the MHE department, you will be involved in maintaining and servicing a range of systems and effective recovery/rectification of any faults/planned maintenance on the MHE equipment.
The successful applicant will be required to be onsite at the head office (Hatfield) 5 days a week, working shift patterns.
Shift patterns are;- 06:00am-14:00pm AND 14:00pm-22:00pm
What You’ll Do
- Electrical maintenance of material handling equipment
- PLC and three-phase fault finding and testing
- Respond promptly to machine faults and carry out planned maintenance on a scheduled basis
- Provide emergency response for essential equipment breakdowns
- Ensure regular maintenance of machinery and equipment to the highest standards
- Actively identify and rectify defects in a timely manner
- Support with facilities when required
- Complete time sheets, task sheets, and manage stock control
- Order consumables and manage administrative tasks
What You’ll Need
- Qualified and time-served technician with strong electrical background
- Experienced in fault finding and rectification in a demanding production environment
- Previous experience of working with PLCs an advantage
- Experience in maintaining automated materials handling equipment or similar
- Self-motivated and flexible with excellent interpersonal skills
- Good communication skills
- Able to work at heights
- Astute practical awareness of Health and Safety principles
- Health & Safety qualification or training in the use of high bay racking access equipment and controlled descent rescue procedures
Desirable
- City & Guilds/BTEC in Electrical Engineering
- Basic mechanical skills
- Working knowledge of automated materials handling equipment
