M&E Hotel Maintenance Engineer – Central London (W1)

Salary: £30,000–£40,000, depending on experience

Hours: Monday–Friday, 08:00–17:00

Benefits: Overtime, 25 days’ annual leave plus bank holidays, pension and training opportunities

We are recruiting an M&E Hotel Maintenance Engineer to join a small engineering team responsible for maintaining an exclusive six-storey Edwardian property in Central London.

The property comprises high-end residences and hospitality spaces, supported by modern building services, including integrated BMS controls, mechanical and electrical plant, VRV cooling systems and a commercial kitchen.

The Role
Working as part of a three-person engineering team, you will undertake first-line maintenance across the building, combining mechanical and electrical maintenance with general repairs and upkeep.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance across building services.
  • Assisting with HVAC, mechanical, electrical and plumbing faults, subject to experience.
  • Monitoring and supporting the operation of BMS-controlled building systems, with training provided.
  • Maintaining hot water systems, taps, showers and small appliances.
  • Completing minor repairs to doors, walls, floors and other building finishes.
  • Installing shelves, pictures, mirrors and other fixtures.
  • Supporting maintenance within commercial kitchen areas.
  • Carrying out preventative checks and responding to maintenance issues.
  • Maintaining professional standards across front-of-house and back-of-house areas.

About You
You will have previous experience in building maintenance or facilities management, ideally within a hotel, commercial building or high-end residential environment.

A basic working knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, HVAC and general building services is desirable. We are looking for someone practical, reliable and adaptable, with good communication skills and a professional approach.

Trade qualifications in electrical, mechanical or plumbing disciplines are required with practical hands on experience and a willingness to learn are particularly important.

Working Hours and Benefits

  • Monday–Friday, 08:00–17:00.
  • Flexibility required during busy periods, including occasional extended hours or rotational 24-hour cover.
  • Additional hours compensated through overtime or agreed time off in lieu.
  • 25 days’ annual leave plus bank holidays.
  • Company pension scheme.
  • Support towards further training and formal trade qualifications.
  • Tools and uniform provided where required.

If you have a hands-on M&E maintenance background and are looking for a varied role within a high-quality Central London property, please get in touch to discuss the opportunity.
