Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

RS Recruitment Agency is proud to be working on behalf of one of our most prestigious clients in the heart of London. We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join a highly respected company within the building services sector. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced engineer to secure ongoing work with excellent hourly rates and professional development opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across a commercial site.
- Responding promptly to emergency call-outs and resolving faults efficiently.
- Undertaking a variety of mechanical and electrical duties, including:
- Minor installations and electrical fault-finding
- Lamp and ballast replacements
- Control panel inspections and maintenance
- Power distribution checks
- Emergency lighting tests and repairs
- Servicing air conditioning systems (AHUs and FCUs), including filter changes and cleaning.
- Monitoring and resetting chillers.
- Performing routine water treatment tasks, including temperature checks and monitoring.
- Maintaining pumps and motors.
- Taking regular readings from Building Management Systems (BMS) and UPS systems.
Candidate Requirements
- Recognised mechanical trade qualification (e.g. City & Guilds or equivalent).
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in building services maintenance (preferably within commercial environments).
- Strong understanding of HVAC, mechanical, and electrical systems.
- A proactive, reliable, and self-motivated approach to work.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
