Salary: £42,000 per annum
Permanent | Shift-Based Role
A well-established facilities services provider is recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join a site-based engineering team in Southampton. This is a permanent opportunity offering stability and a varied mechanical maintenance role.
The Role
You will be responsible for carrying out planned preventative maintenance and reactive maintenance across a range of mechanical building services, ensuring all works are completed safely and to a high standard.
Key responsibilities include:
- Planned and reactive maintenance of mechanical plant and systems
- Fault finding and repair of building services equipment
- Completion of maintenance documentation and reports
- Working from drawings, schedules, and technical information
- Liaison with subcontractors where required
- Identification and ordering of spare parts
- Supporting general engineering and maintenance duties
Requirements
- Proven experience in mechanical maintenance or building services
- Working knowledge of HVAC and mechanical systems
- Basic electrical and plumbing skills
- Strong health & safety awareness
- Self-motivated, reliable, and organised
- Good communication skills
Shift Pattern
- Working a rotating shift pattern
- Shift 1: 08:00 – 16:30 (30-minute lunch)
- Shift 2: 13:30 – 22:00 (30-minute lunch)
- Current rotation: Shift 1, Shift 1, Shift 2
- Late shift worked 1 week in 3
