Contract Manager – Hard FM Services | £60,000 – £65,000 | Portsmouth

Are you an experienced Contract Manager with a strong background in Hard FM services? My client, a respected Facilities Management provider, is seeking a dynamic and technically qualified individual to lead the delivery of a key hard services contract in the Portsmouth area.

About the Role: This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-established FM provider and take full responsibility for the operational delivery and client relationship on a high-profile site. You will oversee the day-to-day management of hard FM services, including electrical and mechanical maintenance, ensuring compliance, safety, and top-tier service delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the delivery of planned and reactive hard FM services (M&E, HVAC, fabric maintenance, etc.)
  • Lead, support, and motivate a team of engineers and supervisors on site
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as the main point of contact
  • Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations, statutory obligations, and company policies
  • Control budgets, monitor costs, and manage KPIs to drive operational performance
  • Oversee subcontractor activities and ensure contractual SLAs are consistently met

About You:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Contract Manager role within the hard FM sector
  • Electrically or mechanically qualified (e.g., City & Guilds, NVQ, HNC/HND)
  • Strong technical knowledge in building services/M&E systems
  • Excellent leadership and client relationship management skills
  • Commercially aware with budget and cost control experience
  • Health & safety qualifications such as IOSH or NEBOSH are desirable
