Building Maintenance Operative
Castle Donington
£35 – £37,000 per annum plus call out and overtime
We are recruiting for a Building Maintenance Operative / Engineer to cover PPM and reactive maintenance on a static site in the Castle Donington area. The maintenance operative/engineer will be responsible for completing planned and reactive maintenance to the building. The role is a permanent position paying between 35-37k (38k for engineering background) depending on qualification and skill level. Mon-Fri 40 hours per week days.
Maintenance Engineer Description:
Plumbing repairs and maintenance
Basic Electrical work such as lamping and emergency light checks
Drainage
Fabric maintenance duties – basic joinery, painting, plastering etc.
L8 prevention and thermostatic mixer valves (TMV)
General handyperson duties
Logging jobs via PDA and communicating with the helpdesk etc.
Maintenance Operative requirements:
To have general technical skills such as basic plumbing and/or electrical – ideally some basic qualifications in the subject matter
Applicants are expected to have several years prior experience some of which will have been in a similar role and have good customer skills.
It is essential staff are self-motivated and promote a “Can do” customer attitude at all times.
Ability and desire to complete general fabric maintenance tasks and building works such as plastering and painting
Be prepared to undertake training as required by the post and the contract manager.
Operate all systems within the building in a competent, effective and efficient manner, adhering to relevant guidelines and bulletins.
Willing and able to pass DBS checks
