Position: Sheet Metal Fabricator
Contract: Permanent
Location: Worcestershire
Salary: up to £17.50 p/h (depending on experience) plus performance bonus (paid twice yearly in June & December payslip), Plus Flexitime (employees can choose their working pattern)

PRS Engineering has engaged with a key client and a leading Oil & Gas Equipment manufacturer based in the Worcestershire area. Due to team expansion and booming industry, we are seeking a Sheet Metal Fabricator on a permanent basis. Very impressive facilities and clean working environment. You will be working with and collaborating with a friendly and welcoming team delivering on high value projects used world-wide.
Summary of Job:
- To undertake fabrication duties, as required, in accordance with the company quality standards and best engineering working practices
- To undertake activities in a timely and efficient manner in order to maintain company contractual delivery requirements
- To assist, where required, in peripheral activities, e.g. assembly, packing, etc.
Staff relationship:
- Directly responsible to the Fabrication Shop Supervisor
- Responsible to the Works Manager/Production Planning Manager
- Liaises with all internal departments, as appropriate
- Liaises with clients and client inspectors, when required
- Has proactive involvement with internal and external quality audits
Duties and responsibilities:
- Shall be fully committed to the achievement of the company policies and objectives with attention to quality and safety
- Responsible for carrying out duties in a safe, timely, economic and effective manner
- To ensure that the workshop is adequately equipped, and machinery and tools are well maintained through a planned maintenance schedule/safe to use
- To ensure, where appropriate, that they are adequately trained and fully competent to be able to carry out work delegated to them, in line with required quality and safety standards
- Responsible for the maintenance and good housekeeping of the working area
- To make recommendations, where appropriate, for improvements to existing working practices
- To make recommendations for renewal/replacement of plant and equipment
- Ensure production consumables are maintained at an adequate level
- Ensure safe working practices are adhered to at all times; this applies to internal and visiting personnel
- Demonstrate a flexible and positive approach to duties, which may be require from time to time
- Undertake reasonable instructions and tasks from senior personnel, commensurate with the nature of the job and in the best interests of the company
Qualifications, Experience & Skills
Must be a competent (non-coded) T.I.G welder of sheet steels (essential)
Experience of working from engineering drawings
Must be a competent stainless steel sheet metal worker
Must be competent at using fabrication equipment, such as press brakes and guillotine
Minimum GCSE Grade 4 or higher (Equivalent Grade C) in Maths & English is preferable but not essential

Hours of work
Works hours enable flexitime working, covering a 40 hour week. Flexible start and finish times are available with core hours which must be covered each day. Monday to Thursday covers an 8.5 hour shift with half an hour unpaid lunch break and a ten minute paid break in the morning and afternoon, Friday covers a 6 hour shift with no lunch break but does include a twenty minute paid break. Overtime is available dependent upon workload, further details will be given at interview stage.
