Static Mechanical Engineer – Farnborough
Location: Farnborough
Hours: Monday to Friday – 8:00am–5:00pm or 7:00am–4:00pm
Contract: 3-month temp to perm
Start Date: ASAP
Extras: Overtime available | No call-out rota
We are recruiting on behalf of our client for a Static Mechanical Engineer to join the on-site maintenance team at a large, modern commercial facility in Farnborough.
This is a great opportunity for an experienced mechanical engineer looking for a stable, long-term position. The role begins as a 3-month temporary contract with a view to becoming permanent.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPMs) on HVAC and mechanical systems
- Respond to reactive issues, including pumps, valves, pipework, AHUs, FCUs, and water systems
- Basic plumbing and general mechanical repairs
- Monitor and maintain heating, ventilation, and cooling systems
- Support wider building services and maintenance when required
- Ensure compliance with health & safety and mechanical standards
- Work as part of an on-site facilities team
Requirements:
- Recognised mechanical qualifications (e.g. City & Guilds, NVQ Level 2/3 in Mechanical Engineering or Plumbing)
- Proven experience in commercial building maintenance
- Strong knowledge of HVAC systems and mechanical plant
- Experience in PPMs, fault diagnosis, and repairs
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good communication and problem-solving skills
