Shift Electrical Engineer – Cardiff (Static Site)
Location: Cardiff
Hours: 4 on 4 off – Days & Nights (12-hour shifts)
Contract: Permanent
Start Date: ASAP

Our client is seeking an experienced Shift Electrical Engineer to join their on-site engineering team at a large, high-profile static facility in Cardiff.
This role operates on a 4-on, 4-off shift pattern, covering both days and nights, and offers long-term career stability with training and progression opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPMs) and statutory compliance tasks
• Carry out electrical fault finding, testing, and reactive repairs on systems including lighting, power, distribution boards, and control panels
• Support maintenance and operation of electrical plant including switchgear, UPS, and emergency lighting systems
• Ensure compliance with health & safety, permit-to-work systems, and risk assessments
• Record keeping of works carried out and completion of relevant documentation
• Provide support to other trades and assist with general building services tasks as needed

Requirements:

• Recognised electrical qualifications (e.g. City & Guilds 2365, 2330, or NVQ Level 3)
• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (essential)
• Previous experience in a critical or commercial building environment (e.g. data centres, hospitals, offices)
• Strong understanding of electrical systems, fault finding, and planned maintenance
• Ability to work independently on shift and make sound engineering decisions
• Good communication and reporting skills
